Hi listers - I am new to this list and to genealogy and would like to post the surname I'm in search of. Here goes: BISHOP, James - also known as "Diamond Jim" from Geneseo, IL. I do not have any dates such as birth, death, or marriage on him. James was my g.grandpa's brother and immigrated to the US in approx.1886-1889 with several family members. I do know of 4 siblings. William Voss Bishop (my g.grandpa) from IL & IN Gertrude Garrett from Blue Island, IL Lottie Bristol from Battle Creek, MI Angeline or Angelina Moore from Nottingham, England I know that as of 1947 and 1961, all of the above including James lived in those locations. James was married to ??? and I know of 1 son and 1 daughter but do not have their names. He raised and trained horses and raced them in Maywood and Arlington Race Tracks in IL - the reason for his nickname as "Diamond Jim".
