Does anyone know where I can write to obtain records for burials in the Old Kewanee Public Cemetery? I have an index of the cemetery but need to know who keeps the records back to 1873 thru 1880. Thanks Patti

But apparently there are no records extant for burials prior to 1920, allegedly because the (recently fired) ex-sexton burned them that year. The index was made by the Henry County Genealogical Society by transcribing from the tombstones which survived to 1989. Rollie

Pat, try the Pleasant View Cemetery. The man there might be able to help you. I found my ggggrandfather there. He died in 1880.
