    1. [ILHENRY-L] MONROE family, Kewanee
    2. Hello. I am new to this list and hope that someone might be able to help me locate my MONROE family in Kewanee, Henry County. I have letters written by my paternal G-grandfather to my grandmother, covering the years of 1946 - 48. At the time, he was living in Kewanee and had for at least 28 years (c. 1918). The letters state that he lived in the West part of town and that he owned 3 lots. This is what I know: Charles Leroy MONROE DOB: Likely January 21, 1886, perhaps Buda, Bureau County (no cert. found) DOD: Unknown Living on one of the lots was "Grandma" and "Uncle Ed." Also mentioned was a daughter of CL Monroe. "Doris" married to someone with the nickname of "Whittier," and had a child named "Les" who would have been born about 1946. They were living in Galesburg, Knox County. There was another mention of "Bob" who I assume was another child of CL MONROE. I would appreciate contact with anyone who might be able to connect me with sources of information on them. I am particularly interested in the death date of Charles Leroy MONROE. Thank you very much, Shelly (California)
