    1. [ILHENRY-L] Re: Marriage Licenses/Certificates - 1900
    2. Thanks so much to Ruth and Carole for answering my question. I'm going to send away for that marriage License for my gg-grandmother and her second (?) husband. This could very well be the breakthrough that I am looking for on this line! Shelly in California << I have two: "Return of Marriage to County Clerk" from 1890s lists place of residence, occupation (for groom), age, color, race, place of birth, parents' names, whether first marriage, place and date of marriage, witnesses. Hope this helps. Ruth >> <<Ruth is right. When you order a copy of a Illinois Marriage License. You get the Marriage License and the Marriage Application certificate which is address is the Illinois State Board of Health. It lists Name, Place of Residence, Occupation, Age next Birthday, Place of Birth, Father's name, Mother's Maiden Name, Number of marriage, Married at, and Witnesses, for both the bride and the groom.
