I guess I'd try this Swedish Genealogy bulletin board <A HREF="http://genforum.genealogy.com/sweden/">Sweden Genealogy Forum</A> I think you have to join to post a question, but I think it's free, Anyway, some people on this forum have what's called the "Emigration CD". This compact disc has a searchable database on it. This database came from a law passed in Sweden in 1869, which required all Swedes leaving the country to register with the police at the port from which they were leaving the country. If Ida didn't leave until after this time, whe might be on this CD. You need to give them as much information as you can to narrow down their search, approximate birth bate, parents names and ages, when they emigrated, etc. This is how I found out where my great grandmother came from. I had no clue until someone did a lookup for me. Good luck, Bob
