Grace - I believe that those ladies were trying to tell you that you could order the 1855 state census on microfilm from Salt Lake City, through your local Family History Center, not necessarily that they would have it onsite. Family History Centers are never going to have all the films that they have in Salt Lake City - that would be impossible. But, you can use the Family History Catalog online and get the film number and description that you need to order the film and then take that to your local FHC to actually place the order. Good luck!
