Hello. I am searching for information on the Monroe family that settled in Kewanee in the early 1900s. Charles Leroy Monroe (aka, Roy Monroe, Leroy C. Monroe) was found on the 1910 census living with his wife Ella Masker. The 1920 Census lists him living with his second wife Katherine M. (Monroe) and their 5 month old daughter Dorris E. Monroe. His mother is living nearby with her second (?) husband August Krueger and her son Edward Monroe. Letters from Charles Leroy to my grandmother in the 1940s mention that Doris married a man named "Whittie" (a nickname) and moved to Galesburg. He also mentions genealogical information that he enclosed in the letter that he transcribed from the family bible. Unfortunately, my grandmother didn't keep that information and I would like to make contact with anyone that might know anything about this family. Thank you, ShellyH in So. CA.
