Hello All, I finally received my free death certificate requests from the Illinois State Archives that I placed on June 22, 2002. I was glad they came. The two that I had requested were for ALLEN, Andrew Wilbur b. 11 June 1864 in County Down, Ireland (now Northern Ireland) d. 4th Dec 1947 in Geneseo and is burried in Oakwood Cemetery. his brother ALLEN, Samuel Hugh b. 8 FEb 1869 in Milan? Illinois (I have never heard of Milan Illinois) They lived briefly in Black Hawk Township in 1870 Rock Island County. and he died. 01 June 1928. buried in Oakwood Cemetery. Andrew married BENTON, Dana Esther on 9th March 1890. Her father was BENTON, Allison from Ohio and mother ROOT, Harriett Maria also from Ohio Andrew had four daughters. Elvira R b. 23 Mar 1891 Beulah M (Mildred?) b. 27 Jan 1897 (believed to have been never married and died on 01 Jan 1929. She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery) Newborn Infant died soon thereafter 1900 Gwendolin A b. 14 Aug 1902 (per the Social Security Death Index she died 02 Jan 1997 last residence in Geneseo.) Gwendolin married an ERNST after 1930. Does anyone know who the husband was? I did not see any postings on Ancestry.com. Elvira is also a mystery. I could not find her after she was listed as age 19 and living with her parents in the 1920 US Federal Census. Does anyone know what happened to her? I have much more new information on the Allens of this area and related families but wanted to keep each post to a direct topic. Thank you. Stephen
