John Bland Sr., b 9 May 1842 in England. Married 1 January 1862 in Coal Valley, IL to Mary ?. She was born 17 August 1843 in England and died 13 March 1935. John Sr. died 1 November 1911 in Alpha. They had 9 children, one of whom was John Bland Jr. who married Lucia Shaw in 1897. He is buried in Alpha Cem. I plan on going to Alpha this weekend if the weather is nice, so I'll snap some photos of the tombstones. I've got more info.. but I'll wait to share that privately.
