    3. Yes it does still exist. It is on the Mississippi River in Mercer County. Look at your map and you should see it between Muscatine and Burlington, Iowa. Just a point of reference for you. It isn't very big. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Wilson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2000 6:48 PM Subject: [ILHENRY-L] NEW BOSTON, IL > Hi, > > Does anyone know where New Boston, Il is?? 3. Thank you to those who stopped by the Kaiser/Keiser and Albright/Albrecht Open House last Sunday. WOW! What a nice turn out. Over 40 people came and a few of them came because of this site! So thanks Rootsweb.com!!! Many photographs were shared and faces and names put together. It was impossible to visit with each and every person on a real individual basis like we would have liked to do, but it seemed like everyone was having a good time. Yes, the library is in a temporary location, but they had everything we needed in Kewanee.... (except air-conditioning) Our trip to the Court House in Cambridge was rewarding also. The people of Kewanee are incredibly welcoming and accomodating, and it was fun to meet relation. We were invited to their homes for dinner on 2 occasions and they say they will come visit us! Great time had by all! If anyone is interested in our lineage of the: Kaiser/Keisers or the Albright/Albrecht please let us know. Thanks! Janet Miller >> Susie & Janet, I would be interested in investigating some of the records in the Kewanee Library, but as I live in Addison, DuPage Cty, IL, it will be a trek for me to get there, and once I'm there, what records will I be able to view, where is the library and what are the hours. Can someone help me with this information, please and thank you. My mother, Dorothy WISSER MACK was fostered out to the LEMPKE family in Kewanee during the late 30's & early 40's. Her foster parents passed away and her foster sister and husband, Velma & Everett KRAUSE took over raising her until 1943ish. They lived on and worked a farm in Kewanee. I've many fond memories of that farm and Everett & Velma. After my mother passed away, I lost contact with Velma. I have no idea if she is still living or not; she'd be in her 80's or more I suspect. I would dearly love to find out about these families or even better find Velma and spend time with her [Everett has passed away]. Thanks in advance for your input and time.
