    3. Oh Larry, Don't unsubscribe. Just do what I do. You delete the ones that are not connected to you first then see what you have left. It's that easy. Besides you might have some information that some of us want. I am trying to find information on Matilda Peterson Stanley. She married William Titus Stanley Jr. in 1890 in Kewanee, Ill. They are my ggrandparents and I can't seem to find anything on her. Her parents were Andrew Peterson and Christina Olsson. Can you be of any help to me? Please reconsider. 3. By all means, post any relevant information. I have posted before but the family of interest is: Michael Grant. He was an early pioneer near New Cambridge - a brickmason and a farmer. His wife was Joan Dack. They arrived in NY from Ontario, Canada and both were Irish (he was Orange Irish). They raised children in Henry Cty, IL that married there to these surnames: Straight, Hamilton, Cahow, Cady, Hovey, Kay, Neuman, and Moody. 2. I checked the Henry County Court Naturalizations for your Bishops, but no record there. The 1900, 1910 and 1920 census records should get you some help. I can usually get a couple of hours at the Regional Archives on Tuesday. I'll see how far I can get. Ann

Certain times of year are slower on the lists....hang in there...they'll all be back when it's too cold outside to do much else. (at least here in the midwest/north). Julie

    1. [ILHENRY-L] Davis, Henrickson, Smith, Dennis, Hill families
    2. Seeking info on John DAVIS born abt 1835 IL. Family story is he was born in Cambridge, Henry Co., IL married abt 1860 to Susan SMITH b 1832 PA but of Knox Co., IL, had one child Senith Arvilla (Saphonia) DAVIS born 8 Aug 1861 Henry Co., IL who married Joseph DENNIS 1885 Knox Co., IL. John DAVIS died young, before 1862, and Susan remarried Wm. HENDRICKSON Oct 1862 in Peoria Co., IL. Susan had two more children. The 1870 census of Salem, Knox Co., IL substantiates this: Susan HENDRICKSON; Saphonia age 9; Dora age 6 (who married Albert Hill 1890 Fulton Co., IL) and Willis B. (Wm. B.) HENDRICKSON. No husband listed in household. Did husband die or were they divorced? Family story is Susan Smith Davis HENDRICKSON could not support her children so she gave them away about 1872. I’m thinking it has to be in Knox, Henry, Peoria or Fulton Co., IL. Susan supposedly died 27 May 1926 Knoxville, Knox Co., IL; however, no one has been able to find proof of this. Does anyone have access to records that might help or know of a good genealogist for hire that researches the above mentioned counties. Suggestions Welcomed. Thanks, [email protected]

James nickname was "Diamond Jim", and he lived in Geneseo with wife(?) and family(?) for many years. Probably the majority of his life. I know that he died and is buried in Geneseo, but don't know where. I am trying to track down "living" descendants of his. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is willing to do this look-up, and copy the obit - I will pay you for any costs. You can contact me at [email protected] Thank you Deb

    1. Re: [ILHENRY-L] Re: Index to Estate Files
    2. Hi Greg: I wish I had a whole bunch of info to share, but so far nothing. I have a "cousin" that lives near Geneseo, IL and I sent her the index numbers off the estate file list and she is going to see what she can find at the historical society or courthouse. So far I cannot even find all the children of JOSEPH HICKOX and BETSEY COLBERT (grandparents of Ada Morrison), let alone any info on grandchildren. The only info I have comes from an obit for Betsey that shows "2 of 8 children survived her". I have names for 5 of 8, (2 from the obit and 3 more from census info), but nothing that connects to the Morrison name. I'll keep digging and let you know what I come up with. If you want any of the info I have (a lot unverified), let me know. Charlie McKelvey

    3. Hi listers - I am new to this list and to genealogy and would like to post the surname I'm in search of. Here goes: BISHOP, James - also known as "Diamond Jim" from Geneseo, IL. I do not have any dates such as birth, death, or marriage on him. James was my g.grandpa's brother and immigrated to the US in approx.1886-1889 with several family members. I do know of 4 siblings. William Voss Bishop (my g.grandpa) from IL & IN Gertrude Garrett from Blue Island, IL Lottie Bristol from Battle Creek, MI Angeline or Angelina Moore from Nottingham, England I know that as of 1947 and 1961, all of the above including James lived in those locations. James was married to ??? and I know of 1 son and 1 daughter but do not have their names. He raised and trained horses and raced them in Maywood and Arlington Race Tracks in IL - the reason for his nickname as "Diamond Jim". If anyone knows of this family and has info on them, I would LOVE to talk with you. Thanks so much - Deb Bishop-Abney from Bureau County [email protected]

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again. Charles McKelvey
