    1. [ILHENRY-L] birth index: Swenson - Szalkowski

    3. here is the first page of what i have. hope this helps some of you. Birth Index Prior to 1916 Henry County, IL S - Z [this page contains Swenson - Szalkowski] Call # Gen R 977.31 H52 Bin V.4 copyright: Henry County Genealogical Society Publication Date: September, 1992. "The Henry County Birth Index Ledger Prior to 1916 and prepared by the court house personnel, has been copied by the Henry County Genealogical Society. This publication is exactly as the original appears, except it has been reduced to publication size. All additions or corrections in script have been made by the court house staff, and some researchers have addded names and dates, we have not proof that they are correct." "Please note that the surnames are placed in alphabetical order under correct letter. BUT not always in correct alphabetical order thereafter." "The copies are the best quality we could produce due to fading print." The following is transcribed by Richard L Dalton from the photo copied page I made in searching for connections to our Willett family. Since plain text does not accept much of anything and the length of a line on the original translates here to two lines, instead of one continuous longer line: I will add #’s to correspond with each child’s birth. Since plain text will not accept spaces either I added semi-colons to distinguish between the child’s name; gender M/F; father’s name; mother’s name; birth; book; page. In a few instances the index does not have a first name for a child which I have indicated with a ? mark. 1st Line:Name of Child; Sex; Full Name of Father; Maiden Name of Mother; 1. 2. Kathryn Jennings
    3. Listers: Can anyone help me in finding any information about S.C.COX who lived in Henry Co, IL in 1858? The only thing I know of him is from the War of 1812 papers of Levi JONES, dated 1858, asking that a reply to him be sent in care of S.C.COX at Oxford, Henry Co, IL. I suspect there was a relationship and am desparate to learn anything at all about S.C.COX. Would SKS look in the census of 1850 and 1860 for the COX family? Are there COX descendants still in the area? Levi JONES lived at Rock Island Co in 1850, Mercer Co in 1860 and evidently was in Henry Co. for some part of that time. I'll be grateful for any and all information. kayjay
