Hi all, Is there anyone on the list that can look up a will to see if there is one I can send for or a probate? I haven't been able to get a death certificate. George Henry DRURY b; August 06, 1809 Rockingham, Vt d; February 25, 1880 Galva, Henry County Illinois Thanks Pauline -- ************************* Merry Christmas to All Pauline[Drury]Phelps *email* [email protected] ============================
Dear List, My great, great grandparents were married in Andover, Henry County in 1871 by W.K. Talbot, V.D.M. They were Swedish. I don't know if Rev. Talbot was or not. I have two questions: 1). Does anyone know what the initials V.D.M. stand for after the name? On the license he is a "Minister of the Word of God". 2). Does anyone in Henry County have access to any type of directory that might tell which church Rev. Talbot was a minister for? Thank you very much, Stacy Rich Dallas, Texas

Mikki, I am not researching the Loomises, just looking them up! However, there was no child who had C.J. for initials. There is much specific info in the article and I was hoping to get the mailing address of the requester so I can send the copy of the 1901 article. Perhaps they already have that article?! Susan....... Thought I would ask if there are any Fulpers in your book? They were large land owners in Henry Co. Maybe ther is something???? ..............Barbara
I don't know if this will help you .....maybe you already have the info.... Back quite a few months ago, I did a lot of searching on this Loomis family...in particular, O. H. Loomis and where he came from. His father was Selah Loomis, born 1785, Tolland, Ct. His mother was Esther Howard. You will find them all in the 1850 census of Henry Co, Illinois. In 1840, I believe they were in St. JosephCo, White Pidgeon Prairie Twp, Michigan. Selah and Esther had a large brood of kids which I discovered on the Ancesteral File. O. H. (Orren Howard) Loomis appears as O. N. Loomis, in the 1850 Henry Co census next to his father, Selah. It doesn't appear that he came out to Illinois with your Horatio G. Sanford. Do you have info on where Horatio was and when? I see an index reference to a Horatio G. Sanford in Essex Co, Gloucester, Mass page 511 for the 1860 census. Is this your guy? Since Selah Loomis had so many kids....among them some daughters, perhaps Horatio was the nephew of O. H. Loomis????? Just a thought. Although I'm not actively searching this family right now...they didn't pan out for my search...at least not for now....I would entertain any additional questions you might have for locating people.....will see what I can do. Julie Bissell Tupker
You mention that all 8 of O. H. Loomis' children are named in this article. Would one of them happen to have the initials "C.J."? At the Hunter Cemetery in Wheatland Township, Bureau County, IL there is a headstone for 'Charles O. s/o C. J. & A. Loomis d. Apr 11, 1879 ag. 11 ys' Would this be any connection to the Loomis family you are researching? Mikki Judge Family Historian - Preserving the past for the future. Hi Connie, I believe you are the one who sent me the obit for Josepb Bolt. If you still have the email in your sent file I would appreciate it if you would send me another copy. Susan, I have an 1885 Bio. of certain Henry Co. citizens and O.H. Loomis is one of those written about. Also the 1901 version has him. The 1885 version is similar to the 1901 article in coverage and content. So I can copy that article from the 1901 book and send to you if you send me your mail address. All 8 of his children are mentioned and possibly you can follow up on them to find the owner/holder of the diary and photos belonging to Horatio Sandford. Horatio is not mentioned and there were no Sandfords written up in either Bio book. I don't have any info. about them, but thought it interesting to add that one of our ancestors also came from Belchertown, Hampshire Co., MA and settled in Buda, Bureau Co., and later in Hastings, Adams Co., NE where he died and is buried. Henry Stiles Hannum m. Elizabeth Belle Teagarden. Henry descendant of William Hannum and Honor Capen who emigrated to Massachusetts in 1630 on the ship the Mary and John. Two of their sons born in Buda, Bureau Co., IL and my great grandfather Charley Clinton Hannum b. in Hastings, Adams Co., NE. Charley settled in Glendale, Los Angeles Co., CA and died when I was about 7months old. He is buried in Kewanee, Henry Co., IL. Elizabeth Belle Teagarden descendant of emigrant ancestors Abraham Tegarden from Solingen, Germany and Anna Margretha Albrecht from Clauberg, Germany emigrated on the ship Harle to Philadelphia, PA 1 Sep 1736. I think our Henry Stiles was probably too young to have fought in the Civil War as he was born 2 July 1858. He emigrated from Belchertown with his parents to Buda, Bureau Co., and then to Hastings, NE where both of his parents died. richard l dalton [email protected]
I am hoping someone can do a lookup for me: i thought i had my great grandfather's death date and just found out it was the wrong John Willett. Marshall John Willett m. 8 Oct 1913 to Clyde Edith Pask b.May 1887 in Elmira Township, Stark Co., IL. d. 12 April 1965, Kewanee, Henry Co., IL. They had two sons: my grandfather Ward Armory Willett b. 13 July 1915, Kewanee, Henry Co., IL and Lyle Willett b. 1 Jan 1919, Kewanee, Henry Co., IL. Hi List, Looking for our ancestors in Henry County. Elizabeth Ferry b. 1847 in Pa. but lived and grew up in Henry Co. Her sister Sarah b. 1852 in Pa.,and married a man by the name of Young, have no first name, and Jane b. 1860 in Henry Co., IL., and their brother Thomas b. 1855 in Pa. Thomas was listed on the 1870 census record in Colona Twp and he was 15 at the time. Maybe this is where the family lived, but can't find any records to this. Hoping someone with the 1880 census can find them. Don't have any information on any of these. No spouses or children or death dates or etc. Do know that another sister Dora married William Cann and lived in Geneseo. Their parents names are John and Jane (Elizabeth Jane) both born in England. Would like to find some records for these siblings. Thanks Georgia
