Oral history from my grandmother, and others of her generation, has it that her grandmother's maiden name was Mary Sofronia DePue (or any spelling likely to generate that pronunciation), born 1842, married G. M. Trumper. We think Mary DePue was born in New York or Pennsylvania. They lived near Nauvoo,Illinois for a while before settling in Wayne County, Iowa. G. M. and Mary S. Trumper are buried in the New York Cemetary, Wayne County, Iowa. Their daughter Ida Mae married John Henry Reuter. They lived in Wayne County, Iowa,then moved to Brainard, Minnesota in the 1920's. We do not know Mary DePue's father's name, but her mother's maiden name was Sarah Martel (again, any reasonable spelling), b. in New Jersey or New York, died 1897. Looking for info on Trumper, DePue and Martel from Nauvoo area.
