Shawnee, Thanks for keeping an eye out for my Truitts. I was told once that some of the census takers "extended" their ink by adding water to it. That looks like the case in the 1850 census of Hancock County, Illinois. -- At least the microfilm copy they have at the LDS library here in Mesa, AZ. Parts of the county are OK, and then on some of the pages the writing fades out terribly. I was just wondering if your copy was that way, or if I have been looking at a particularly poor filming.
