    3. We are attempting to help an older member of the family learn something about his father's family and are looking for information or leads for reseaching Jeremiah HECOX. We found some information in a bio written in KS regarding one of Jeremiah's sons. Jeremiah HECOX (or HEACOCK, HICOCK, HICOX, etc.) b. abt. 1826 in Hancock Co. or Adams Co., IL d. 1883 in Allen Co., KS m. Sarah HARRIS 19 Feb 1861 Adams Co., IL Sarah HARRIS b. 15 Dec 1842 Hancock or Adams Co., IL d. 1922 in Allen Co., KS [we had thought that Sarah may have been the daughter of Solomon HARRIS 1797-1872 and Lucinda BARKER 1804-1879 However, we see another Sarah HARRIS in the area , b. abt. 1844, married Samuel P. DAVIS on 8 October 1867 in Adams Co., IL. Which Sarah was the daughter of Solomon HARRIS?] Children of Jeremiah and Sarah: Nancy Jane HECOX, b. abt. 1862, m. Samuel MALCOM date unk., d. 1925 Allen Co., KS. Two daughter's. Alfred Harris HECOX, b. 30 Oct 1863 IL, m. Josie RHODABARGER 1889 KS, d. 1961 Allen Co., KS. Two son's. John William HECOX, b. 3 Sept 1865 IL, m. Jenny Eveline OSHEL, 1887 ?KS, d. 4 April 1920 TX. Seven children. Frank Edwin HECOX, b. 1879 IL or KS?, m. #1 Ollie THORNTON 1899 KS, m. #2 Sarah B. (MINNICH) BLACK on 1 Nov 1922 Allen Co., KS. Frank had one son from each of his two marriages. The biography written in KS about the son, Alfred Harris HECOX, stated that the family was English, and Jeremiah HECOX was "from the family that settled in Illinois".
