My connection to Hancock Co. is the marriage of Joseph W. CARTER and Rachel WALKER. THey married on March 23, 1848. However, they do not ever appear in the Hancock Co. census. I think I may have found them in 1850 in Spencer Co, IN. He was a preacher, so I am starting to think that maybe he was a travelling preacher! Can't ever pin them down! They eventually ended up Ohio, where their son George was born (no info). George married in Piatt Co, IL in 1870. If anyone knows anything about Joseph and Rachel, I'd love to hear from you!
