Munson, 28, of Western Springs, Ill., formerly of Plymouth, died about 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 1978 in Community Memorial Hospital in LaGrange from injuries sustained about two hours earlier in a hoist accident. Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1978 at 11 a.m. at the Oakbrook Christian Center in Oakbrook, Ill. Rev. Dave Scott officiated. Graveside services were held at St. Mary's Cemetery near Plymouth at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Western Springs Fire Department Paramedic Fund or the Oakbrook Christian Center Organ Fund. He was born June 14, 1950 in Plymouth the son of the late Lloyd J. Munson and Elsie M. Boyd Munson Lair of Macomb. He married Gwyneth L. Johnson. She survives. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Lee Munson, residing in South America; two step-brothers, Thomas W. Lair and Charles R. Lair and one son, Russell E., at home in Western Springs. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Patricia A. Munson. He was a member of the Oakbrook Christian Center and a volunteer member of the Western Springs Fire Department. He was employed as a technical engineer with Beautiful Sound, Inc., for 5-1/2 years.
