"SONNY" BAILEY Mr. Glen A. "Sonny" Bailey, 67, of 834 S. 7th St., died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday (March 23, 2004) in Iowa City, Iowa. Born July 25, 1936 in Quincy, Sonny was the son of Glen Clifford and Dorothy O'Dear Bailey. He married Inez Smith Guthrie on April 1, 1978 in Quincy. She survives. Sonny was a graduate of Unity High School in Mendon and enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Bailey was employed at Carl Neumann Construction and as a cab driver in Quincy for several years. Surviving are four daughters; B. J. Self of Arkansas, Glenna Lee of Tennessee, Lily Bailey of Deer Ridge Park, WA., and Stormy Clark and her husband Jerry of LaPrairie; four sons, James Bailey and his wife Daisy and Richard Bailey and his wife Nancy, all of SanAntonio TX., Terry Bailey and his wife Terri Lynn of Cashton, WI., and Kevin Guthrie and his wife Connie of Quincy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin Bailey and his wife Ruth of Fowler and Donald Bailey and his wife Mary of Harrison, AK; and three sisters, Mary Goertz and her husband Chuck and Dixie Oenning, all of Quincy, and Brenda Bailey of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Terry Lee Bailey and Jackie Bailey. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Robert Morwell. Burial with Military Honors conducted by Payson V.F.W. Post #2061 will be in Payson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
