Coleen, I don't know if this will help at all since I still don't know if it is Elderville Cemetery. You may have to find someone who lives in that area, or e-mail from the website for Hancock Co Historical Society & ask if someone might be able to help. This webpage (URL below) shows Elderville, a now tiny town at a crossroads 5 miles due west of the center of Basco. There is one cemetery showing on the plat book for Wythe Twp which is not showing up on this map site. (The plat book gives no names for any of the cemeteries.) To see the location of this unmarked cemetery follow on the map one mile south of Elderville, then west 1.5 miles on the north side of the road. It should be directly down from the red "Section 21" marking & just left (west) of the #"668" on this page. http://topozone.com/map.asp?lat=40.3302&lon=-91.2943&s=25&size=l Other cemeteries shown on the plat book "near" Elderville appear on the webpage below shows Wythe Twp cemeteries In Section 17 Wythe Twp --- Wythe Cemetery at the intersection of 2 county roads In Section 19 Wythe Twp --- Congregational Cemetery, east of Hwy 96 http://topozone.com/map.asp?lat=40.3313&lon=-91.3661&s=25&size=l Mary Jane JCDOC@aol.com wrote: > HI! May I ask if anyone knows anything about Elderville Cemetery? I was told that it was near Basco, Il. Supposedly there are Orths and Mournings buried there. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Coleen.
