They were married in Rockbridge County, VA. They moved to Hancock County, Illinois. Not sure when they came there. Samuel S. DAVIS was in the Civil War in 78 ILL Company D Infantry, and died in the Battle of Jonesboro. He is buried at Marietta, Georgia in Grave 5545. Born 1841, he died September 1, 1864. The battle only ran from August 31 - September 1. He was a Union Soldier, which is why he was not buried at Jonesboro, but at Marietta. I am interested in anything and everything having to do with this family and siblings of Samuel Spitler DAVIS. Thanks so much! Vincent E. Summers
