Shawnee, I noticed the BOWEN surname among you list of surnames. One of the women on my line had the maiden name of BOWEN. Her given name may have been either Belinda, or Elizabeth. Marriage records for Ross County Ohio list her name as Belinda Bowen at the time of her marriage in 1827. Family Records which have been compiled by the late Eldon A. Farrens, of Idaho, indicate that her full given name was Elizabeth Ann BOWEN. She married James Isaac TRUITT. Belinda, or Elizabeth, BOWEN TRUITT died shortly after the birth of her 7th child. The time period for her death would have been roughly between 1840 and 1845. She is supposed to be buried in a Cemetery near Farmington, Fulton County, Illinois. I have been unable to find a death or cemetery record for her. By 1847 the TRUITT family had moved to Hancock County, Illinois. Two of the Truitt's daughters were married in Hancock County. Elizabeth Ann TRUITT married Henry Mortimer KELLOGG in Hancock County, in 1847. Mahala or Mahalia TRUITT married Jacob EMANUEL in Hancock County in 1849.
