Judy, I don't know if you had a chance to visit the restored village of Nauvoo, in Hancock county. We spent three days there as a family, and I would have loved to have stayed longer. You are right, the countryside in Hancock County is so pretty... Well cared for homes and farms. I also enjoyed the historical aspects. My husband and our children and I were enthralled with our visits to the restored homes and businesses in Nauvoo. Even the kids enjoyed history, as they listened to the costumed tour guides in the various places we visited! It was almost like taking a trip back in time to the 1840's. We found Nauvoo to be a place of refuge from the world; a quiet, peaceful village on the banks of the beautiful Mississippi River.
