I too must confess, the things everyone says about the Mississippi shoreline is so impressive. And very much so at Nauvoo and surrounding areas! Possibly why alot of cemeteries were placed there, even in early indian cultures. Keep in mind that the Mississippi river also can put one in a peaceful trancelike state. So much water and so eternal. Also, the land is very fertile.
