His demise at his farm home eight miles east of Carthage, is attributed to a heart attack. White Dies Suddenly Saturday Berton Oliver White, 70, Carthage farmer, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home at 9:30 p. m. Saturday, August 11. Mr. White was a son of Morris A. and Pearlia (Ewing) White and was born June 23, 1881, in Hancock county. He is survived by his widow, Blanche Kimbrough; four children, Mrs. Olive Earls of Basco, Leonard White of Lomax, Mrs. Leona Bivens of Carthage, Mrs. Marie Carl of Olive, Calif.; a brother, Fred White of Plymouth, and two sisters, Mrs. Susan Swan of Edmunds, Wash., and Mrs. Grace Millsom of Pittsburg, Kans. The funeral was held at the Elms Tuesday at 3 o’clock with Rev. J. E. Van Dyke of Warsaw officiating. Mrs. James Walker and Mrs. F. J. Reu were in charge of the music. Pall bearers were Orville Larson, Lee Badger, Bill Johnson, Wyman Smith, Charles Ruggles and Albert Barr. Interment in South Cemetery at Basco. White Died August 11 Berton Oliver White, oldest son of Morris and Perlia Ewing White was born June 23rd 1881 and passed way suddenly August 11, 1951 aged 70 years, 1 mo., and 7 days. He leaves to morn his loss his devoted wife, one son, Leonard White of Lomax, three daughters, Olive Earls of Basco, Leona Bivens of Carthage and Marie Carle of Olive, California; 8 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Susie Swan of Edmunds, Washington, Grace Millsom of Pittsburgh Kansas, one brother, Fred White of Plymouth and a host of other relatives. He had a kind and cheerful nature, always seeing the bright side of life with a jolly word and greeting to all his friends. He greatly enjoyed the fellowship of his old acquaintances and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May the sweet memory of this dear father be the consolation that the years will bring to soften the bitter grief of this hour to the loved ones.
