They are buried in Calvary Cemetery at Carthage, Illinois. Children: 1 - Mary Susan CARR, b. 1884 2 - Michael, b. 1892 3 - Alexander Paul, b. 1897 4 - John, mar. Gertie LAFFEY CLAMPITT, Alexander Paul - b. 25 Apr 1897; d. 28 Apr 1968. In 1918, he mar. Pearl McMILLEN, b. 1900, a dau. of T. H. and Minnie DENNIS McMILLEN. Mr. CLAMPITT is buried in Calvery Cemetery at Carthage. Mrs. CLAMPITT lives in Peoria, Illinois. CLAMPITT, Andrew J. - mar. 30 December 1860, to Hannah MOURNING. She died May 1922. Mrs. CLAMPITT was married (1) to Douglas THOMPSON. CLAMPITT, Andrew Jackson - died 28 Aug 1910, at the age of 72 years. He mar. Arabelle BREWER who was b. 1858 and died 1939, a dau. of John and Deliah BREWER. Children: 1 - Earl C. 2 - Iris BLAKE 3 - Ann LOWER CLAMPITT, Arlo - mar. Eileen PRUNTY, a dau. of Mark and Marie PRUNTY. Children: 1 - Ronald (twin) 2 - Donald (twin) 3 - Gary 4 - Carolyn married Rick HOMAN 5 - Leslie 6 - Randy Mr. CLAMPITT is a retired section foreman for the C.B.&Q RR. He is a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army three years. Mrs. CLAMPITT worked as head cook at the West Point School before its closing in 1979. The family resides in West Point. Note: There are CLAMPITTs listed in the Quincy area-wide phone book. I will list them at the end of the CLAMPITT data. CLAMPITT, David - mar. Mary CLARK, a dau. of A. J. and Lucinda Bell RICE CLARK. Judy HILLS, a dau. of Mr. and Mrs. HILLS of Carthage, IL. Mr. CLAMPITT married (2) Sally SHORT of Warsaw, IL. They are the parents of two children: 1 - Becky 2 - Jeffrey Mr. CLAMPITT spent 4 years in the Navy. He is employed at Quincy. Mrs. CLAMPITT is employed by the Memorial Hospital in Carthage. CLAMPITT, Edward A. - died Oct 1929, age 68 years. CLAMPITT, Harlan Wayne - formerly of Basco, IL; mar. 9 Apr 1980 to Dora Marie KENNISON, a dau. of Frank KENNISON of Hunnewell, MO. They reside in Quincy. CLAMPITT, James H. - born 1855; mar. Minnie SCHLOSSER who was born in 1855, in Germany. Their first child, a female, was born 5 Mar 1883. CLAMPITT, John - b. ca. 1822 in North Carolina, mar. Susan A. KINDRED, b. 2 May 1826 in Indiana. She died 24 July 1900 and is buried in the Buckeye Cemetery. Seven Children: 1 - Rachael, b. 1853; mar. Andrew NEWMAN 2 - James H., b. 1855 3 - Mary Caroline, b. 1857; mar. James Martin ELSTON 4 - David W., b. 1860 5 - Alexander N., b. 1866 6 - William B., moved to Luray, MO 7 - only 6 listed. Mr. and Mrs. CLAMPITT raised a nephew, Harold C. CLAMPITT, b. 1873, in Illinois. CLAMPITT, John Joseph - b. 1888; d. Aug 1949. He mar. Gertrude LAFFEY. Children: 1 - Gerald 2 - Carroll 3 - Dorothy, mar. Rollie DITTMER Their first car was a Chevrolet. The family lived on a farm and owned 100 acres. They are buried in the Calvary Cemetery at Carthage. CLAMPITT, John - b. 5 Oct 1881; d. 30 Oct 1949. He mar. (1) Lou TREACH (2) Gladys PUCKETT (3) Eva PHILLIPS. CLAMPITT, John - mar. 12 Dec 1942 to Mary Jane HEATH of Morris, IL. CLAMPITT, Micharl F. - b. 1892 in St. Albans Twp. (this is the Stillwell area), and died 1975. He mar. Edna LAFFEY who was b. in 1895 in St. Albans Twp.; she died 11 May 1966. and was a dau. of Stephen and Henrietta McKENZIE LAFFEY. Children: 1 - Ruth, mar. Lee HOFFMAN 2 - Mildren, mar. Wayne WILLIAMS The family were farmers living west of West Point until their retirement and then they moved to West Point. They were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Buried in Calvary Cemetery in Carthage. CLAMPITT, Ronald - mar. Carmen BENNETT, a dau. of Mr. and Mrs. Luther BENNETT of Carthage.
