He was born Oct. 11, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He married Lynette Koss in 1972. After graduating from Burlington (Iowa) High School in 1966, he worked in the Iowa Ammunition Plant until before entering the Army. He was stationed in Germany. He had been a member and officer of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union 499 and had worked at Burlington Shops of Burlington Northern Railroad for 15 years. He was a skilled craftsman in the mechanical and welding trades. Survivors include his mother, Mae Munson of Ottumwa; sons Bill and Bob, both of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Lauris (Sharon) Meek of Tabor; two half-sisters, Darlene Rozenboom of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada, and Ina Harris of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his father and his older half-brother Richard. Memorial services were held in Tabor. Burial was in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.
