Burial was in Toll House Cemetery. Mr. Koontz was the son of T. J. and Sarah Frances Koontz. He married Hester Kimbrough in Carthage in 1915 and they moved west in 1918. Surviving are a daughter, Florene Gray and two sons, Emil of Portland, Oreg. and Wilfred of Reddington, Calif.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Alfred Wear of Carthage.
