Last Wednesday at 3 p. m. the angel of death spread his dark wings over the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Thompson, taking from their arms their little 9-months-old baby boy. Little Lysle had been ill but a week with dysentery. During his brief illness all that loving hands could do, all that skilled physicians could advise was done, Yet the little sufferer received no aid until the message from above, " ’Tis enough, come up a little higher," was sounded into his aching breast, then he fell asleep. Sweet in life, he was even sweeter in death. Clothed in a lovely robe of cream satin, the little body as it lay in a handsome white plush-covered casket surrounded with a wreath of white flowers, reminded one of a beautiful wax doll. In his tiny hands were a bunch of rose geranium which lent a delicate perfume to the little casket. Rev. Dr. Hyde delivered an impressive and comforting sermon, at the house, Thursday at 3 p. m., after which the little casket was placed in the hearse and followed by a large concourse of sympathizing friends, was taken to its last resting place in Wildwood cemetery. / . . . . "When we see a precious blossom,/ . . That we tended with such care,/ . . . . Rudely taken from our bosom,/ . . How our anxious hearts despair,/ . . . . We shall sleep but not forever;/ . . There will be a glorious dawn;/ . . . . We shall meet to part no, never,/ . . On the Resurrection morn." Mr. and Mrs. R. Hainline, of Colchester, attended the funeral of their baby brother.
