Does anyone on this list have a story similar to this? When I was growing up in the 1950s- early 1960s, I was told, by my Aunt Lee (Lelah Momberg Koeber), the following story: A little girl, in her long dress of the time, was on her way to school one day. Presumably it was in Oakwood, possibly somewhere east of there. This girl was attacked by a dog for an unknown reason. The dog tore at her long skirt. She stopped and "mended" the tear to her skirt by tearing the loose threads with her teeth. Within days, the girl died from "hydrophobia" or rabies. Since Aunt Lee was born in 1900 and her older brother in 1896, this probably took place (if at all) prior to 1912 or so. I've just always remembered the story although not the important parts, names, places, etc. Debby
