She was born June 22, 1927, at Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Laura Redden Riter. She married Weldon Munson Aug. 12, 1943. He survives. She is also survived by her mother, Laura Riter Valeu of Hamilton; three daughters, Mrs. James (Donna) Hills of Carthage, Mrs. George (Dixie) Regennitter of Revere, Mo., and Mrs. Jr. (Debbie) Bourgeois of Kahoka, Mo.; a son, Rusty Pitt of Keokuk, Iowa; a brother, Laurence Riter of Keokuk, Iowa; four sisters, Maxine Loring of Keokuk, Iowa, Wilma O’Daniel of Wenden, Ariz., Mrs. Steve (Joyce) Grout of Charleston, S. C. and Mrs. Jim (Velma) Rossi of Carthage; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her father and her husband, Russell Pitt, Nov. 11, 1966. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary 5117 of Carthage, the Eagle's Club Auxiliary of Carthage and the Carthage Bowling League. She had been employed with the Good Apple Company of Carthage for 15 years as shipping supervisor, retiring in 1991. Funeral services were held Thursday in the Lamporte Funeral Home of Carthage with Rev. the Philip Nevius officiating. Burial was held in the Moss Ridge Cemetery of Carthage. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospital of Carthage. Born June 22, 1927, in Keokuk, Iowa, Mrs. Munson was a daughter of Lawrence and Laura Redden Riter. She married Russell Pitt Aug. 12, 1943. He died Nov. 11, 1966. She married Weldon Munson in November 1968. He survives. Mrs. Munson was employed by Good Apple for 15 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 5117, Eagles Auxiliary and the Bowling League, all of Carthage. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors also include her mother, Laura Riter Valeu of Hamilton; three daughters, Mrs. James (Donna) Hills of Carthage, Mrs. George (Dixie) Regennitter of Revere, Mo., and Mrs. Junior (Debbie) Bourgeois of Kahoka, Mo.; a son, Rusty Pitt of Keokuk; a brother, Laurence Riter of Keokuk; four sisters, Maxine Loring of Keokuk, Wilma O'Daniel of Wenden, Ariz., Mrs. Steve (Joyce) Grout of Charleston, S.C., and Mrs. Jim (Velma) Rossi of Carthage; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage by the Rev. Philip M. Nevius. Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be today with family meeting friends 7-9 tonight in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
