Dear Ron, Thanks for your help in locating the burials of those I didn't find. I realize now that I DID find Jesse Barnum, but forgot to measure the distance for the plat I am making. Your hints will help greatly! I feel sure the others are also there, and now I have clues as to where to look when I go back out there tomorrow. Another kind gentleman plans to go with me, to witch for unmarked graves, and while he's doing that, I will try to find the stones I missed, and will also take my digital camera and take pictures of the two Thurber stones mentioned below. I'm excited to know one is your ancestor. Wonderful! The two Thurber stones I found were just a little north of James Thurber's, but in the same row north and south. I'll send you my plat by mail, although I know it is still very imperfect and incomplete, and will be revised. The reading of the stone I took on William T. Thurber was as follows: d. Aug. 7, 1866, age 39 yrs, 2 mo. 15 days. My measurement of the stone was: 62' from the North fence. 117' from the East fence. Hope I didn't make an error in reading. The reading we took of the stone for John W. Thurber was as follows: d. Sep. 25, 1871, age 19 yrs, 5 mo., 14 days (s/o William and Keziah Thurber). My measurement - 64' from the North fence, 117' from the East fence. The actual cemetery (acre) itself looks as about as good right now as it has for a long time, I imagine. Having been mowed with a riding mower just a week ago. My reading of Jesse Davis is Jesse DAVID. My reading of the date of death of Coleman Wyatt is 1889 not 1888. Weldon Munson's daughter confirmed to me that her dad doesn't remember where Marion Munson (his dad) was buried and apparently he had no stone. I haven't found a stone for John C. Berry either. Will keep working and looking. One thing I really would like to know, right now, is whether there is a law requiring the landowner to grant access to a cemetery if it is landlocked.
