Carlow. Thomas's mother was Nellie Nolan who may have been orphaned early and taken in by Patrick Murphy's parents whose names I do not know.Thomas had 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The second son Edward Henry Murphy was my ggrandfather who later moved to St Paul MN. My notes say that Tom was a optometrist in August. Eventually he died of TB. Patrick Murphy the father came to Maine in 1860's so your date might be right. Does this fit your family. Please email. Murphys are hard to track. April Foster
