Shawnee, I am not familiar with the Clark cemetery. Note that the dates that you have here are the same as the ones for George and Margaret Clark at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Interesting!! I have seen and have a picture of the stone for them at Mt. Vernon though. Tell me where the Clark cemetery is located. It might be an interesting visit! Perhaps they were moved from one cemetery to the other or, even the stone might have been moved. The Clarks' daughter, Mary Ayers and her family are at Mt. Vernon so it might be that they wanted the stone with the rest of the family, esp. if the Clark plot is remote and more likely to not be tended. Thanks for the "heads up". Mary
Hi Mary, It seems that the Clark Cemetery and the Mt. Vernon Cemetery have the same exact names. I do not know what happened there but the library might have gotten them mixed up before sending them to me. The discriptions are different but the same names, so I am going to go ahead and put the discription on line and hope someone knows of the cemetery and the burials listed in it and send me the information. Do you have Isabella's dates so I can add her to the Browning Cemetery? Hi All, I have just finished Harris http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilhancoc/harris.html and Wolfort Cemeteries http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilhancoc/wolfort.html in Wilcox Township which were very small cemeteries but some history involved, and Wythe Presbyterian Cemetery http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilhancoc/presbyterian.html in Wythe Township. If anny of you have relatives or friends buried there and they are not on the list please let me know. If you have more information on anyone that is buried there let me know. Thanks Shawnnee
The new biographical books being sponsored by the Hancock Co. Historical Society have arrived this week! I picked up my copy yesterday and they have done a very nice job with them. Being from Hancock Co, it is a good evening's entertainment just reading about those from the past and present. The pictures turned out well, too. Congratulations to those who worked on the project--well done!
