    3. Shawnnee, Eleanor Huddleston HAMILTON's husband was Jason HAMILTON who died in KY before 1840. Elen moved to Hancock Co. with her daughter and family shortly after 1850. Her daughter Ruth Hamilton HOWES' tombstone reads "Died Dec 6, 1893 Aged 70y 9 mo 26 days". I calculate her birthdate to have been 8 Feb 1823. Ruth HOWES was the wife of Wm. W. HOWES (1826-1903). Four of their children are still buried at Green Plains and a fifth child, my great grandfather John T. HOWES, was buried there in 1914. His body was later exhumed and moved to Oakwood in Hamilton. The children of Wm and Ruth HOWES buried at Green Plains are: 1. Logan HOWES--tombstone reads "1848-1919"(in lieu of 1929) 2. Ellen A. HOWES (1852-1855) 3. Robert W. HOWES (1860-1883) 4. Charles W. HOWES (1865-1929) I am unaware where their son Willis HOWES (b. circa 1859) was buried. Hope this helps! Madonna

    3. Hi Madonna, I got a call from Dan this morning and he would like your phone number or if you would like to call him that is fine too but he has lots of minutes on his cell phone.. He has some things he would like to tell you about and then share with you. I don't know if the Howes are realted to you but my ggg uncle David Bolt married Nancy Ann Howes and I have a picture of them when they were older. I also keep in touch with his descendants as they live mostly in California and Oregon close to me. Just thought I would mention it to you. They died in Adams County, Illinois Nancy was born March 30, 1840 in Nicholas, Bourbon Co, Kentucky daughter of John A. and Ellen Howes. I thought that was interesting that her family ended up in Hancock County also. 3. Thanks Shawnnee! I have been trying to get in touch. Yes, I am a HARRISON and a HOWES descendent. My mother was the daughter of George Washington HARRISON and Ida Belle HOWES. John A. HOWES and my 2nd great grandfather Wm. W. HOWES were brothers--the sons of Reuben HOWES (1795-1868) who is buried in Green Plains Cemetery and Anna Allnutt HOWES (1795-1827) who died in Bourbon Co. KY when Wm. W. HOWES was an infant. Along with many other Marylanders, Reuben and Anna migrated to the Bluegrass area of KY shortly after their 1816 marriage. After her death Reuben remarried 3 times in KY and had more children by each of those wives. Around 1846 Reuben HOWES moved from KY to what he described in one of his letters back to relatives in MD as "eight miles southeast of Warsaw in as beautiful a country as your eyes ever beheld--Kentucky not accepted". Most of his family eventually joined him and many went even farther west. His 5th and final marriage was to a widow in Hancock Co. in 1856. You may be interested to know that Reuben also wrote "John lost his first wife, had one child, he then married a Miss Elen Brittenham" Madonna ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shawnnee Ramey" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, February 21, 2004 5:01 PM Subject: Re: [ILHANCOC] Green Plains Cemetery, Wilcox Township > Hi Madonna, > I got a call from Dan this morning and he would like your phone number or if > you would like to call him that is fine too but he has lots of minutes on > his cell phone..
