Kim, If I was you I would write the Historical Society in Carthage and see if they could help. They have old newspapers and will search to see if there is something on his drowning or an obit. The last time I wrote the Circuit Court for something they turned my letter over to a nice man from the Historical Society and he got the record for me. I know he will do court house research for people. The Circuit Clerk will not do researching any more. The Historical society charge a real small fee for their researching. They also have cemetery listing and I really believe they could help you. Roberta Summers
