Hi List, I am seeking and searching for a marriage and census lookup for a Orin Brown who married Sarah Clark. Orin B in Carthage about 1822-1825, married a Sarah Clark & she was born in Iowa. They had two sons, Zachariah Taylor Brown B 1855 in Carthage & Charles Brown B 1842. I am sure they had more than two sons but I do not know at this point the other children. The IL marriage index is on-line The only thing I could find was: Owen Brown married Sarah Ann Clark on 6-26-1851 in Hancock Co., IL Vol. 2, pg. 8, lic.# 1747 you can see it here: http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/GenealogyMWeb/MarriageSearchServlet I can look-up the 1880 Census, but only that one.

I found Zachariah in the 1880 Census living in New Home, Bates Co., MO He was born in IL in 1855, but he has his parents birth as Father in PA and mother in IN Mary Brown b: 1856 in MO, 24 years, wife, father b: in KY mother b: in KY Edward Brown b: 1878 in MO, 2 years, son ? Brown, b: 1880 in MO, 1 month old, say other (female) Albert Brown, b: 1874 in TX, 6 years, son Their is an Owen A. Brown, b: in 1818 in IL living in Wallingford, Hardin Co., KY in 1880, who is a blacksmith, but his wife is Mary b: 1825 in KY. Their are only two Orin Browns in the 1880 Census who were born in IL one is 2 and the other is 20. On the marriage license Owen could be a miss print.
