She was born March 19, 1915 in Batavia, the daughter of John Adolph and Minnie (nee Carlson) Swanson. She was united in marriage to Edward Todd on April 10, 1946 at her parent's home in Batavia. Marion graduated from Batavia High School with the Class of 1933. After graduation, she was employed by Campana Corporation (later purchased by Purex Corporation). She was employed there until her retirement in 1982. Marion was an active lifetime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia, where she was a member of the choir, served as a Sunday School teacher and was an assistant organist from 1972 until 1989. Marion was also a member of the Batavia Historical Society and Batavia Senior Citizens. She is survived by several beloved nieces and nephews, including Doris Lynch, Marcia Galloway, Sharon Darr, Mary Roelker, Nancy Johnson, Vicki Gary and David Swanson. She is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews, many cousins and dear friends. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until 11 AM on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM following the visitation hours. The Rev. Jeff Gricke will officiate. Private interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery in Aurora. She retired in 1971. She married Fred Klutz at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont on May 4, 1929. They lived in St. Paul until moving to St. James. She was employed at Sherr-Tumico Incorporated in St. James and did custom sewing. In 1983 the couple moved to Trimont. Fred died in 1985. She moved to Trimont Health Care Center in 1992. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Trimont and a former member of Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James. She was active in the Business and Professional Women's Club, Ladies Aid circles, and teaching Sunday School. She belonged to the Retired Teachers Association.
