    3. Here are some suggestions. If this is not news to you, my apologies for repeating it. If you request the certificate from the state they will likely use the same index as you. I've written an article on using the IL death index, which may or may not help in your situation. http://www.rootdig.com/adn/illinoisdeathindex.html You might have better luck with the county. They will have the same record as the state and the county might have been more inclined to index it "correctly?" Are the death indexes for 1923 from Fulton County available through the Family History Library? Then you could look yourself.
