Died, this morning, Mrs. Mary A. DAVIS, of paralysis, aged 67 years. Mrs.DAVIS and her husband came from Ohio to this county in 1846 and located on the farm that she died on. Her maiden name was TYLER. There were twelve brothers and sisters of them; three of whom are living; Mrs. PRUETT, of Carthage, being one of the number. The deceased was the mother of ten children, four of whom are living, two sons and two daughters. These and an aged husband mourn her immediate loss, and besides these a whole community. Grandma Davis was an old settler in this part of the county. Many newcomers of other days shared her hospitalities. Her house was the home of the itinerant and the only place of worship many years ago. Her christian integrity approached perfection. Mrs. Davis has been in poor health for some time. She made all the necessary arrangements for her burial and then gave instructions regarding the funeral services, requesting that there be no unnecessary ceremonies. The funeral sermon was preached to a large congregation at the old home by Rev. Kidd, after which a large procession followed the remains to its last resting place in Moss Ridge cemetary. it is a long farewell to Mother Davis, but not without pleasant recollection of the past.
