Boston were united in marriage Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Memphis, Mo., the pastor of the Christian church of that city officiating. The ceremony took place at the parsonage and was witnessed by Ray's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. T. Boston, who reside near that city. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Myers and is a most excellent young lady. The groom is the son of Mrs. Wm. Boston, of this city, and attends to the express for J. L. Paris Transfer Co., and is a worthy young man, industrious and honest. Boston, 94, Carthage, died Sunday afternoon in Memorial Hospital in Carthage. He was born Jan. 3, 1891, near Carthage, a son of William H. and Nancy E. Bryant Boston. He married Viola Myers Feb.25, 1920, in Memphis, Mo. He farmed in the Adrian and Powellton areas until his retirement in 1982, was a veteran of World War I and a member of Phillip Hartzell American Legion Post and the First United Methodist Church of Carthage. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Bettie) Merritt of Carthage, Margie Boston of Rolla, Mo., Mrs. David (Shirley) Gnann of Nauvoo and Jean Morris of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sons, Raymond of Carthage and Larry of Livermore, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers, six sisters and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Leathem Funeral Home in Carthage. Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call until the hour of services. A memorial his been established for the Hancock County Nursing Home activities fund.
