Tuggles Charles B. Tuggles passed away at his home in this city, 16 W. Cherry St., Sunday, March 31st, 1918, at 12:30 p.m. aged 61 years, 1 month and 24 days. Mr. Tuggles had been in poor health for more than a year, suffering from tuberculosis, and his health gradually declined, his last weeks being full on intense suffering. Charles B. Tuggles was the son of John and Jane (Kee) Tuggles, the father a native of Tennessee, and was born Feb. 7, 1857, in Illinois, having spent his entire life in this state. On March 20, 1890, he was married to Miss Alice Ewing in Carthage after which Mr. and Mrs. Tuggles made their home near Macomb for many years, until coming to this city some 18 years ago, where Mr. Tuggles has been engaged in various occupations, principally employed at the W.E. Lyon lumber yards. Five children were born to this union, two of whom survive, Mrs. Fred Caulkins, and Mrs. J. Leslie Salmons both of this city, together with the widow. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters, John, of Oneida, Ill; J.T. of Macomb; Mrs. John Gibson, of Oneida, Ill; Mrs. Snow, of Middleton, Ill, the brother J.T. being present for the funeral services, which were held from the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 pm, Rev J.W. Ferris officiating. Burial at Moss Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Tuggles was a member of the Methodist Church of this city and also of the M.W.A. lodge.
