Mapes FERRIS, Ill.Willa Ella Mapes, 89, of Ferris, died at 10 a.m. Monday (March 10, 1986) in Hamilton. Mrs. Mapes was born June 19, 1896, in Loraine, a daughter of George and Elizabeth Booker Wiedmyer. She married Emory Mapes Feb. 4, 1914, in Loraine. He survives. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Ferris, the Ladies Aid Society of the church and the Home Bureau. Also surviving are three daughters, Ruth Cravens of Carthage, Mrs. Lester (Mildred) Fleming of Burlington, Iowa, and Mrs. Charles (Phyllis) Vass of Ferris; a son, Robert L. Mapes of La Harpe; four brothers, Hamil Wiedmyer of Hamilton, Orville Wiedmyer of Chicago, Paul Wiedmyer of Elvaston and Oscar Wiedmyer of Quincy; two sisters, Lena Lazenby of Marion, Iowa, and Gladys Heagy of Elvaston; 15 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, a grandchild, a great-grandchild and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10.30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage by the Rev. Ernest Barrett and the Rev. Hugh Spyres. Burial will be in the Thornber Cemetery at Powellton.
