    1. [ILHANCOC] Willis, Mauk, Gibson

    3. Hi, I show John W. Willis joined Providence church, Hancock county, Ill., in Nov. 1877; his wife Martha Ellen Mauk Willis joined Providence church, in July 1884. I show that they were later members of Turkey Creek church, near Uniontown, Bourbon Co., Kansas, and that A. P. Mauk and Thena Mauk were also members there. I have an obituary of a John Gibson (1787-1869) (the obit spells it Gipson), who is the same man that the McDonough Co, history says on several occasions fed over two hundred people and kept them in his home and farm buildings, during the annual association meetings. There was another John Gibson who was a member of the same church as the one just named, (Union, near Fandon, in McDon. Co.), who was born 1819 and died 1890. (Not sure if we have his obit but we have Fannie Waymack Gibson's obit, his wife). Some of the obituaries are not much into the family side of things. ALso, have an article by Mary E. Gibson, wife of a William Gibson of the same church. Robert

    2. Nancy Willis
    3. Hello Robert, I believe the John Gibson who married Nancy[nee not known]Willis Boyd was born according to census records about 1788 in North Carolina. I do have a short article about him feeding 200 in his barn. I would love an obituary. The records for Gibson Cemetery #1 in McDonough County show: GIBSON, Nancy, wife of John, d. Oct 2, 1860, age 53y 10m 21d [If this is the person I think is John Will's mother, then she died later in the year after the 1860 census was taken.] GIBSON, John, d. Apr 22, 1869, age 81y 11m 12d GIBSON, Nancy, wife of John, d. Mar 10, 1849 age 51y 20d Apparently both of his wives were named Nancy. Also, I think but haven't too much proof that one of John & Nancy his first wife's son, N.Joseph married Mary Catherine Mauk and had children: Nancy Ann E. and William J. I loose them after the 1860 McDonough County Census. The other names you mention I am not familiar with. It is likely they may be connected but don't know. Thanks for your reply. Bitter cold here in Kansas recently. --- "Robert L. Webb" <bwebb9@juno.com> wrote: > Hi, > I show John W.
