My GreatGreatgrandfather David Bedford moved to Hancock county, Walker township after the death of his third wife, Charlotte Durand in about 1843 and lived there until after 1870. His fourth wife Mary Knapp moved to Montana before 1880 with her grandchildren from daughter Jane, who had married Charles Royles in 1873 in Hancock county. Her other daughter Mary, married Benjamin McArthur and they lived in Adams county, Illinois until after 1910 when they moved to Montana as well. David and Mary also had a son, Jasper David, he moved to Montana with his mother, but died in Canada, where his father had been born. I have very little information on David Bedford, aside from marriage data and census data. I don't know if he died in Hancock county or in Montana or on the way. He had little or no contact with his daughter from the third marriage who grew up with a guardian and lived and married in Knox county, Illinois where her mother and maternal grandfather had died. I have more information on David's parents and ancestors. His first and second marriages are complete mysteries aside from the name of the bride.
