I hope Karen Taylor responds to this one. The McGee Cemetery is west of Basco and a bit north on the west side of the road. A year or so ago there was a great effort to get that cemetery in respectable condition as it had fallen into neglect with a lot of overgrowth, etc. Karen and her husband were among those spear-heading the effort at the clean-up. I am told Wythe Twp. has the responsibility for the most rural cemeteries in the county and, of course, the cost of maintaining a cemetery gets pretty expensive when it is mowing season, etc. I was told that, as with all rural cemeteries, the people in the surrounding community were buried at McGee and many had been residents of the Bear Creek Twp. just across the road! My husband and I visited the cemetery last summer and it is looking much improved but a lot of work remains. It is a picturesque setting on a steep hillside. I don't know about those names who are buried there. There are still a number of monuments, some rather massive.
