I have not proved that the Wm Ross I found on the 1850 and 1860 census records with a wife of Martha is mine or not. Sarah Ross married Moses True Dyer in Hancock County in 1847 and in 1852 came to Oregon with a daughter Lauretta. I have them on the 1850 census in Hancock. I believe that Wm Ross died before Sept. 5 of 1870, I found a guardianship record in Douglas County, Oregon with the name of Wm Ross and listing the children of Sarah. Seba was born 17 May 1776 in Meriden, CT and his father was Abel Ives and his mother Lois Tuttle. LDS records show that Seba was a member of the early Mormon Church and helped build the Kirtland, Ohio Temple. Seba and Mary may have married about 1815 in Connecticut or New York. Lucinda was born in Herkimer County, New York in 1823. Seba is listed in the 1830 census in New York, Genesee County, Stafford township. Then moved on to Kirtland, Ohio (1835) then settled in the Nauvoo, Illinois area (1842). According to census records Seba and Mary had a boy a little older than Lucinda and also a girl very close to Lucinda's age, can't tell if she is older or younger than Lucinda. So now I'm trying to find Mary's maiden name as well as her other children's names. I am also still looking for death and burial information on Truman Kinney, Lucinda's husband, and Seba Ives and Mary Ives, parents of Lucinda, as well as names and burial places for her missing 7 babies (infant deaths or still born?). If you can help me verify this information please contact me! Thank you! Also in my previous posting I mention Livelot Kinney, he is brother to Truman Kinney. Patrice sheesyb@yahoo.com

I have absolutely nothing on Margaret herself (parents, siblings dates etc) except that she m. Elijah Haines circa 1833 and died prob. bef. 1850. Elijah and Margaret had 6 kids first one born 1837 and the last one b. 1846. Elijah then married Mary Shultz and had 6 more kids. Elijah and Mary are buried about 6 miles from where I live here in Hancock Co. IL. However, as for Elijah and Margaret, I have 342 decendants with 179 marriages. Great to hear from you!! Bob

Hello. Could you be a little more specific as to location? I can think of several cemeteries in the county that would qualify as German-Lutheran. Jim, I don't know anything more about Daniel Brown than I pieced together from census records, but I offer the following: You listed five children under Angeline Brown and "Simeon Calihan". Mahala Angeline Brown was Simon P. Callihan's second wife. Oliver P. and Ella were Angeline's children with Simon. Regarding Frederick versus Frank P: we can reasonably conclude that was the same child. Perfection in census records is hard to come by. Collect as many records as you can find, make a best guess, say "maybe" a lot. My work includes working with families who lived in Fountain Green and Hancock Townships. We are interested in finding more information about Daniel Brown, who seems to have been born in about 1814 in Harrison Co IN, and was married to Naomi Cordelia Shields, who was born in 1818 in Harrison County Indiana. Naomi was the daughter of Robert Shields and Naomi Littell. Naomi's sister was Sarah V. Shields, who married Alfred Brown. We don't know if Alfred and Daniel were brothers, and we don't know who Daniel's parents were. We are happy to exchange information with descendants and other interested researchers. Frank P. is not listed in 1850. I think that, somehow, the name was confused in the 1850, and that the child is actually Franklin Pierce Brown, born about 1845 in Illinois. Neither Frank nor Frederick is listed with them 1870, but would have been 25 by that time, and perhaps married. Perhaps, at birth, the child was named Frederick (in homage to the Frederick Brown in Harrison Co IN), and, for some reason, a decision was made to change the name in those days before birth certificates?

I see the name Nichols on this forum quite a bit and thought I'd try again. I'm looking for anything I can get regarding occupation, etc. Pictures of my house from back then would make me ecstatic, but I certainly don't expect them... as always: writings in diaries or letters to family about the house, incidental family portraits from inside the house, floorplans (yeah right) anything, really. Even just a good oral story about my house or family gatherings there would be awesome. The same goes for the people who have lived in the house. I'd like to start an album of previous owners and tell a little about them and their families.

Isadore and Anna Eberwein lived in Warsaw from 1871-1897. Isadore drowned (newsclip Aug 17, 1876), Anna died 1883, said to be buried in Catholic Cemetery. Probably unmarked grave. Son Joseph died Peoria (killed by train) 1893, age 24. Daughters Mary, Rose, Katie, Annie and Tillie. Mary & Rose left county by 1895. The other 3 followed 2 years later. Annie and Tillie baptized Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The other 4 born somewhere in Iowa. Found some news clippings and a few land records, as well as 1880 census. Would like to find more about them while they lived here. Kim

I posted the handwritten information that I have regarding the Shultz family. My Mary Shultz was born in Pennsylvania March 15, 1817. She was the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Shultz. She is the sister to my husband's great-great-great- grandfather, Lewis Shultz, born in Pennsylvania, February 27 1820. I just have a handwritten paper I think from my husband's great-grandfather. I did have Lewis' daughter's death certificate, Sarah Shultz Gunnell was born in Pennsylvania. I still think we might have a connection, but maybe not a direct line. Just curious. I appreciate your time. Happy Genealogy! Julia
