    1. [ILHANCOC] McCREERY 1870 Hancock Co. census
    2. James McCreery b. 1811 in Ireland bought a farm in Rocky Run Twp. in 1850. He was there until the late 1880's when he died in MO. He's buried in Lima. I can't find him or his children in the 1870 census or the 1880 Hancock History. From all accounts, he was an upstanding citizen.. He is in the 1850, 1860 and 1880 censuses. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Ken Newton

    2. Lady Tia
    3. I use to think my Susannah LOVELL may have been from Hancock Co but have since found her and family from Edgar Co., Ill. Still looking for MORRIS-WILLIAMS-and JOHNSON lines, the FELCH lines seemed to have married both MORRIS and JOHNSON and even lived close to each other. My Davis line has not been found yet. I am seeking the parents of John Sylvester DAVIS born in 1857 (Have full birthdate somewhere). I was told by a cousin that he was born in Webster, Hancock Co., Ill. Just now found a possible John DAVIS in Hancock Co 1860 census born abt 1858. Can someone who has access to the census records send me the John DAVIS from there? Below is what showed up minus the city. John Davis, Hancock Co, age 2 in census born abt 1858 Thank You

    2. Hi Shawnee, Glad to hear all your surgeries are paying off. You will enjoy retirement and moving around. Were not full time travelers but enjoy our winters in South Texas. We use to stay in a fifth wheel but then we bought a park model and just leave it parked so we don't have to tow it all the time. I am still researching the Thompson, Polite, Long, Ikerd, Flynn & Tomlin family from Hancock County. Can't find anything on the Polite family. Would really enjoy hearing from anyone who knows anything at all about any of my family members. Roberta Summers

We have finally sold our home to my daughter and her new husband and we are going to take off in our fifyh wheel and go see the country. We will be on the west coast untill we get used to being on the road ( in otherwords we are just going to be practicing for a while until we ger used to it. The kids are putting a pad on the property for us so we ww will have a place to come in for a landing. We had a 3,000 SQ foot home and I can not believe how long it is taking me to get things packed up and put in 3 storage spaces until we find another home, hopefully back in Missouri or Arkansas close to my sisters. We have quite a few new people and I want to start a roll call to see who is looking for whom. I am sorry it has taken so long to have a roll call but it has been so hard for me. After we get moved into our fifth wheel and get on the road, I plan on getting back to the cemetery records and finish them up. I still have about a 10 inch stack so I have a long ways to go. Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.illinois.counties.hancock/3358.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This is a follow up to the previous post. I found a Julia Ann Starkey married to a Simon Phillips 3-2-1854 in Hancock County. The 1860 census shows Simon and Julia A. Phillips with two children Mary 5 and Sarah 2. Could not find them on the 1870 census, found a Simon 51 and a Pulina (spelling could be wrong) 42 on the 1880 census with a son William 12. I find a Simon Phillips in 1900 age 71 & 1910 age 81 living with his daughter Mary and her husband Cyrus Eaton in LaHarpe he was a widower. Could someone check cemetery records for his death date and lookup a obituary? Thank you.

    3. Only a suggestion but is this person recorded with Jackson as a last name instead of Phillips?? Good luck on finding him. Sounds like you've chased in all the usual places to find him. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <ILHANCOC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 11, 2007 12:40 AM Subject: [ILHANCOC] William Jackson Phillips Brick Wall > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.illinois.counties.hancock/3358/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > William Andrew Jackson Phillips was born about 1867 in Hancock County, > Illinois.
