    2. I am researching the McClintock's that lived in West Point, Basco, and Warsaw. In particular, George/Ollie, and children, Milo, James, and Gladis. I'm also working on the Glenn's in Bowen. In particular, Amos Sparks Glenn/Ella Gooding Glenn and children. Another line I am researching is the Winfield family in Bowen. 2. Researching LIETZ, specifically John Lietz and Matilda Wollschlager Lietz who moved to Hancock County c. 1894 with their three children, Joseph, Elizabeth and Clara. Lived somewhere near Warsaw. While there, four more children were born, John (c. 1898), Tresa (c. 1895), Mathilda (c. 1896) and Albert (Feb. 21, 1902). Only Albert, who was my father, survived. The others succumbed to childhood diseases and are very likely buried there somewhere. The family was Roman Catholic so would likely have attended a Catholic church in or near Warsaw. I need to find out where they might have attended church and where the children might be buried. The family moved from Hancock County about 1905. I am grateful for any help anyone can offer and welcome any and all possible connections no matter how tenuous. Thank you. Dennis

I'm researching PEEK/PEAK and DURMAN. My gr.grandmother was Ida PEEK/PEAK, daughter of Henry Peek/Peak and Martha J. (Mattie) DURMAN. I first located them in Fountain Co., IN. in 1880 census in Mill Creek Township, where Mattie PEAK is listed as a widow living with Harvey DURMAN and wife Mary A. Mattie/Martha is at this time listed as being 38 years old and born in IN. Daughter of Mattie is Leatie (Letha), 9 years old born in IN. At this time my Great Grandmother, Ida was already married so no longer living with her mother. Also living with Harvey Durman and wife, Mary A. are children: Samuel and Debrale (Deborah) and it gave Deborah's place of birth as IL. and Samuel's place of birth as IN. In the 1850 census of Hancocke County Illinois I found Harvey DURMAN with children: Thomas, 9 Martha, 7 Samuel, 5 James, 3 and Deborah, 2. All of the children except for Deborah were born in IN. so apparently the family went back and forth between IN. and Illinois, ending up in Fountain Co.area of Indiana. On the census for Hancock Co., IL. in 1850 there is also a Jonas Durman with son William living with Harvey Durman. At that time it has Harvey's age as 33 and Jonas is listed as 27 so I am guessing that they were brothers. Both Jonas and Harvey Durman were born in Virginia. William was born in Indiana and is 6 years old at the time of this census. Harvey DURMAN is listed as a carpenter and Jonas as "laborer". I have almost no information on Henry PEEK/PEAK, father of Ida and husband of Martha/Mattie DURMAN and would appreciate any lead anyone could give me. Martha and Henry were married in Hancock Co. IL. on April 7, 1859. Henry and Martha were the parents of at least two children: 1. Ida PEEK/PEAK, b. about 1861-2 2. Letha PEEK/PEAK, b. abt. 1871, married John PRINTY on June 8, 1890 and had children; Chloe PRINTY and Charles Hartman PRINTY Ida married Jesse Carroll TOWELL December 15, 1878 in Fountain Co., IN, died in 1897. Jesse and Ida had the following children: 1. Arthur Herbert TOWELL, b. Aug. 23, 1880 2. Samuel Durman TOWELL, b. Jan. 29, 1883 (my Grandfather) 3. Frederick Jesse TOWELL, b. July 26, 1885 4. Inez Elizabeth TOWELL, b. April 9, 1887 5. Owen LaVerne TOWELL, b. April 13, 1889 6 Opal Martha TOWELL, b. Jan. 2, 1892 I would love to hear from anyone researching or connected with these lines. Sincerely, Margie (Margaret Towell Machos)

    1. Roll Call-Conn Surname
    2. Chancelee
    3. My Hancock County, Ill. family are the Conns. Sometime in the early 1840's Henry and Parmelia Miles Conn came to Nauvoo w/ 3 children. In 1845 they had a son William Henry. They are present in this county in the 1850 census and it is shortly thereafter that Henry (the father) died in the gold fields. In don't find the family in the 1860 census but am guessing that after the death of her husband, Parmelia may have moved to Dekalb County, Ill. where her father lived. My ggg gf Spencer Scudder Conn (the oldest son of Henry and Parmelia) joined the army (civil war) at Paw Paw Illinois as did his other brother Alson Livingsworth Conn. I believe....can't recall off hand....Paw Paw is in Dekalb. The youngest son William Henry Conn was handicapped but didn't let that hinder him. He went to college in Chicago to major in music and became a teacher wherever he went. In the late 1860's this Parmelia along w/ her now grown children came to Worth County, MO. I am still looking for who Henry Conn belongs to. He was born in NY Nov. 1810. His mother was Elizabeth Mandeville but still don't know his father. In the 1850 census there is another Conn also born in NY. His name was Samuel and he would be older than Henry. Anyone have any info on Samuel to prove that he was a brother or relative of Henry's? Anyone have any info on Henry and his family? Thanks. Chancelee

    3. Hello, My Hancock Co. ancestors were BRYANT, LANGLEY, THURBER, and PATTERSON. The first three families lived near each other and were located appoximately five miles southeast of Carthage in the vicinity of the Old Brick Church & cemetery. Peter & Lucretia Bryant came to Hancock Co. from Floyd Co., VA circa 1854. My oldest Thurber ancestors were James & Elizabeth Thurber. James was a veteran of the War of 1812, and he is buried in the Old Brick Church cemetery. My oldest Langley ancestors were Joseph & Susannah Langley. They are buried on the old Langley farm. My oldest Patterson ancestors were Thomas & Elvira Patterson. They were from Macon Co., TN and came to Hancock Co. circa 1848. They lived in Pilot Grove township. These are some of the early settlers of Hancock Co.--coming to Hancock Co. between 1800 & 1855. I am also researching the following related families: BOSTON, CLARK, KIGAR, KIMBROUGH, PORTER, POWELL, VAN DYKE, WARD, WILSON, & YETTER. 2. Dennis Albertson
    3. Our Morris Albertson was in the 1860 Hancock Co census married to someone different than in 1850 census of Washington Co. Ind. His son William married Hulda Schwartz of Hancock Co in the county in 1864. They are in the 1870 Hancock Co census with their 2 children and his Aunt Mary Albertson. Morris appears to have died before 1870 census. Does anyone know of a death date or cemetery for Morris Albertson. William & Hulda were in Adair Co. MO in 1880 and finally in Livingston CO MO in 1900 where William died in July of 1900. I am interested in anything that anyone might know about these families. I've learned a lot since my first post a year ago, but still have so much to find out. I'm sure there must be other ancestors out their! Thanks in advance for any info that anyone might be able to share. Sharon

    1. [ILHANCOC] Williams & Gillmore
    2. Hi Everyone, Today I am looking for information on Andrew Williams and Mary Gillmore. Andrew William was a circuit rider for the Methodist Church from Mason County Illinois and we believe he married Mary Gillmore in Hancock county in 1853 and then married Sarah J. Wood in 1858 in Hancock County. He took these women back to Mason County with him . Sarah J. shows upon the census with him in Mason County but Mary doesn't so she must have died early and I believe it was in child birth. Can anyone help me with this Gillmore family and would you know of her marrying Andrew Williams? Have really hit a brick wall with this man. Roberta Summers.
