Posted on: Hancock County, Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Hancock/1300 Surname: Wilson, Mason ------------------------- I am seeking information on Lemuel Wilson and Nancy Mason (believed to be her maiden name) who were married in 1870. Lemuel reportedly lived in Lorraine, Illinois, and he and his bride returned to Lorraine sometime later. Couple moved to Keokuk, Iowa, in late 1880s or early 1890s, where they reared a family. Nancy M. Wilson died in Keokuk, on the last day of February, 1926, and was returned to Lorraine for burial. She was preceded in death by Lemuel. He may also be buried in Lorraine. She was born September 9, 1852, in Inianapolis, Indiana. Had a brother named Morgan Mason, and other relatives with surnames of Kraus, Darby Wilson, Crail, and Crays. If you have any info regarding Lemuel and Nancy wilson, please contact me at papdaddy@hotmail.com

Paula :-) Researching the following families: BARNETT, BLOYD, HESS, SPOONEMORE, BUCKERT, NAGEL, SCHILDMAN
Just subscribed to the Hancock, Co., page in hopes of finding some one who may be related or know the following names I am currently researching: BUCKERT, NAGEL, SCHILDMAN, OR SCHILDMANN BARNETT, HESS, BLOYD, SPOONEMORE OR SPOONAMORE OR SPONAHEMIER (spelling?) I have information back to Conrad Wm. Buckert from Furstenburg, Waldeck Co., State of Hesse West Germany. He would be my gg-grandfather. All I know about him that his son Frederick Wm. Buckert was one of the first Hancock, Co. Buckerts. I believe Conrad's wife's name was Christina. FREDERICK WM. BUCKERT came to the U.S. on October 7of 1849 or 1850 through New Orleans. I think that he may have been Westphalia, Germany but not certain. His first wife was Rosa Ochler and then Katharina Wollenbrook. I have read possibly that Wollenbrook may have became WOLBRINK. Can any verify this? ROSA died <1857>, I don't think they were married when they came to the U.S. since they married 06Jun1855. I don't know of any children they had. FREDERICK then married Katharina on 18Jul1858. Their children include: CHRISTIAN W. BUCKERT FREDERICK WM. BUCKERT (my g-grandfather) WHO MARRIED HENERIETTA 'HATTIE' YOUNG One of their children, my grandfather RAYMOND WM. BUCKERT was b. 28Aug1896 d.29Dec1971 he married MARIE ANNA NAGEL on 25Dec1920. MARIE ANNA NAGEL's parents were FREDERICK NAGEL AND JOSEPHINE SCHILDMAN. One of them came to the U.S, in 1880. Then my father PAUL FREDERICK BUCKERT AND THEN ME PAULA MARIE. I also have descendents of JOHN F. BUCKERT that married ANNA KATHERINE SPITZ I received this line from a David Buckert in Texas. JOHN F. BUCKERT (Settled in Monmouth, ILL)(Owned a dairy) md. ANN KATHERINE SPITZ 1856 Warsaw, Illinois b. 1839 Alsace, Germany (In Illinois, USA- l846) ( ? Brother: ----- BUCKERT - was in Victoria, Texas ---notes from David's pedigree) JOHN AND ANNA'S children include CHRIS WM. BUCKERT who married DELIA PIPPINGER ARGYL BUCKERT WHO MARRIED IRENE FRANCIS McMICHAEL and then a second wife Annette ------- One of their children is JAMES ARGYL BUCKERT who married SLYVIA MAY, David's parents. I am uncertain how many Buckert's that came to the U.S. together. I had heard two and that one settled here and the other brother went to California. Supposedly this brother died before he married or had children. Can any one set me straight? According to David his grandfather lived in Moline, IA where David was born. You can e-mail me at paulabuc@adams.net Thank you Paula
